Meet the team

Our team

We have a great bunch of people from all walks of life working at Charltons, who are passionate and knowledgeable about jewellery and have over 150 years of experience between them.

Our staff are a friendly lot - no high pressure selling, and have a genuine interest in making sure that you are 100% happy in your dealings with our company whether its a diamond ring, a gold chain or you've just popped in to get your jewellery cleaned. You can be assured of a relaxed but attentive and helpful approach with anyone on our team.

On this page you can get to know each of them a little better - it's always nice to know who you are dealing with!

phil-tomkinson

Phil Tomkinson

Phil is the store manager and is responsible for all the day to day running of the shop, as well as being the head designer for customers individually designed pieces. Whether its a re-model of an existing diamond ring or a brand new one Phil's the man to see. Phil has 25 years of experience in the trade, many years in the supply side being involved with gold & bullion, and has been with Charltons since 2003.

"After 25 years in the jewellery trade I still enjoy learning new things almost daily. Theres a great deal of satisfaction in being part of someone purchasing a ring that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives. Away from the shop nothings more relaxing than sitting on the harbour with a line in the water or watching whatever sports on, no matter what shape the ball!"
